HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE MY IMPERFECT SKIN

HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE MY IMPERFECT SKIN

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve been enjoying your days of fun in the sun this summer. I’d like to check in and make sure you’re all taking care of your skin this season. Summer is a great time to focus on nourishing your body, especially if you’re spending time at the pool or beach, so I want to talk with you about the importance of skincare today. Before we touch on the many reasons why you should love your skin all year round, I’m going to show you how I’ve come to terms with the way I look and feel in my own skin. It’s taken me a long time to be confident enough to write about this topic, and I hope each and every one of you will learn from my story.

In case you haven’t heard about my battle with cancer, I went through chemotherapy when I was a young girl. The disease and its treatment ravaged my body with dryness, stretch marks and scars, leaving me with a weak immune system and very little self esteem. Because I had to take steroids and other medications as a part of chemotherapy, I gained 60 pounds in two months, which also took its toll on my body and, if we’re being honest, my confidence. This experience with chemotherapy - surgeries, weight loss and stress - left me looking for a way to reverse the effects of this painful transformation on my body and grow to hopefully love my skin.

My battle with cancer made me hate the way skin looked every day given that I had to deal with dry spots, painful tears and noticeable scars all over my body. Once my disease got worse and my treatment intensified, my skin was peeling off, and I felt like I could never expose my skin. The surgeries and other parts of my treatment hurt my skin more and more, and I would never even think of going to the beach or the pool in the summertime. Even before my illness got worse and my body started to fall apart, I wouldn't visit the beach let alone wear a bikini in public. I refused to expose my body because I didn’t like my skin for a long time, but I’ve learned to feel less secure now and focus on loving it more over time thanks to my work in skincare.

Because my experience with cancer has given me the chance to speak with other survivors and share my story with the beauty community, I’ve been able to appreciate my body, skin and self.

Today - my skin is not perfect but i am proud of it.

Every scar reminds me of  another triumph, and every defect  symbolizes what i went through.

And from now on all I can do it's to take care of my skin & body - because it's ALL I HAVE!

I’ve spent the last few years discovering new ways to improve my skin naturally. Once I found out that minerals like calcium, sulfur, zinc and potassium could help heal my skin and my mind, I searched for the leading source of these superfoods back at home in Israel. The Dead Sea is one of the only spots on Earth with these minerals in one place, so I’ve used it to develop mineral-based treatments to help people like me improve their skin and regain their confidence.

This body of water has a higher salt concentration than any other one in the world, and my products are made from its wondrous fresh resources as a result. With Dead Sea minerals at the center of our skincare collection, we incorporate everything from magnesium to chloride into our healing face and body care items. Every stretch mark, scar and more has its own story, so, whether or not you’re ready to show off your body in a bathing suit this season, you can enhance your beauty regime with Dead Sea wonders like our ultra-exfoliating-body-treatment.

As we already talked about the different ways to replenish your skin after going outside in our last blog post, I’d like to help you manage your health and happiness for the rest of the season. I want you to have the right skincare products at your disposal all season long because you’ll be able to love yourself even more when you’re taking care of your mind and body the right way. Given that you should always do the right thing when it comes to your skin and body, it’s important to learn as much as you can about the nutrients your skin needs throughout the year.
