Arianna skincare - Sun Perks and Pleasure!
Sun Perks and Pleasure!
Hi everyone! For those of you who are hiding under the cool breeze of the AC ,and for those of you who are currently wiping the sweat off your forehead - I have only good summer vibes to spread today. It seems like time flies -at least here- while trying to juggle between all my daily tasks. I'd like to update you that my recovery process is going well, and I'm starting to see the end of it. My recovery only prove - day by day- how well my scar revision surgery went. That was just something I had to get off my chest.
It's August, huh? It couldn't have been more noticeable. I guess it's common knowledge, but August is the warmest month of the year and it's so damp and sticky here in New York. I'm not complaining though! I was born in Tel-Aviv where it only gets worse (optimistic?). The heat can rise to up to 105 degrees and humidity goes hand in hand. It used to be so hot, that I probably spent more days at the beach than at home; and I loved every second of it. Random fact: all the extra sunlight we get during the summer is known to elevate people's moods. Research shows that extra vitamin D makes people more cheerful, open minded and outgoing during summer. Summer makes us laugh, and it's fun, I can't deny it! So summer makes you happy, and the sun gives the best vibes, but don't think you can spend your entire summer outside! As much as they are nice and warm, the sun rays can be dangerous too. In fact, it is best to stay mostly in the shade if possible. The sun's ultraviolet A (long-wave) and ultraviolet B (shortwave) rays can harm the skin in the long run. UVA, has long been known to play a major part in skin aging and wrinkling. On that note, I reccomend further reading at http://www.skincancer.org/. Also, as I always say, "drink lots of water" (it's always good for your skin!) and use a high SPF cream before soaking up the sun!
Don't get me wrong, the sun is still important to us, even if only speaking about the benefits of Vitamin D for our bodies. Despite its name, vitamin D is not a regular vitamin. It's actually a steroid hormone that you get primarily from either sun exposure or supplementation. It's known to be a disease preventer, an infection fighter, a bone builder and even (in some cases) prevents depression (wonder why we are so happy during summer?)! According to recent research it seems as if Vitamin D is the best thing under the sun. But we if we don't get to be outside much like most of us with a 9:00 -5:00 job? Luckily for us, most foods are known to be fortified with vitamin D; but still most people are not getting enough. What to do? Vitamin D supplements are a great way help you get your proper daily dose, without the danger of getting skin cancer as you might with the sun's nasty UV rays. Cosmetics also a great rescue for your skin. Make sure that your daily face cream is vitamin D fortified with SPF. There are many special lotions out there which serve both as sun protectors and vitamin D suppliers all at the same time. You can start here at Arianna by getting your Active Vitamin D Serum which can be applied at night, before going to bed or during the day.
Enjoy the sun!!
